Friends of NH Drug Courts Kick Off Event

Friends of NH Drug Courts Kick Off Event

Devine and Millimet Law Firm hosted the Friends of NH Drug Courts Kick Off event on Friday, May 20th. The group named Senator Kelly Ayotte, Senator Jean Shaheen and US Congressmen Frank Guinta honorary members of Friends of NH Drug Courts for their bipartisan work on legislation related to the war against the drug epidemic. Friends of NH Drug Courts is a non-profit group that raises funds to assist Drug Courts across the State. County Attorney Conway was invited to this wonderful event as she is a strong advocate of the Rockingham County Drug Court. Assistant County Attorney Ken Burlage, who is our Drug Court Prosecutor, was also invited to the event. Attorney Burlage devotes much of his time to the Drug Court program and I am very proud of all that he has accomplished. Thank you Devine and Millimet for hosting this event!

Community Conversation on Substance Abuse, Rye, NH

On March 24, 2016, from 7:00pm to 9:30pm at the Rye Public Library, County Attorney Conway presented, along with a panel of other distinguished professionsals, to a group of concerned Rockingham County citizens regarding the drug epidemic and how we can best battle the issue as a community. County Attorney Conway discussed her efforts to gain the support of the Rockingham County Delegation as it relates to funding the Drug Court program in 2015 and 2016. Prior to 2015, Drug Court was funded by a federal grant. When the grant ended, CA Conway, along with other members of the drug court team, successfully advocated for the County to fund the program. Drug Court reduces recidivism rates by as much as 40%. Futhermore, our Drug Court program in Rockingham County saved the tax payers over a million dollars in 2015 by keeping drug addicts out of prison and in treatment.
